Last night was one of those nights I should have quit while I was ahead, but it was hard to know what the next hand would deal. And that hand was: bitter-cold whip your face off wind, snow (hate), a 40-minute bus ride (buzz killed), a 30-minute wait at the bar to get to the upstairs portion of the bar (seriously?), a 30-minute wait to go pee (no but really I thought I was gonna have to cut a bitch) and a complete and utter lack of desire to drink and/or dance (which I attributed to everything that led up to that point.) But last night taught me a couple things: 1) Never go to Policy on a Saturday night ever again. 2) I got the SAD. It’s been three months since I’ve been in a warm climate but because this winter has been generally mild, it hasn’t affected me. But last night it did. And so this is just to say, if I don’t join in with the “oh gee it’s snowing” excitement, that’s why.
